Advice for an Organized Mom |

Life's a Beach |
| |

The summer is here at last, and all signs point to the sand! Whether you’re heading to Atlantic City or Rehoboth, rest assured that your trips to the beach will be fun, relaxing, and organized. No more last minute errands and frazzled mornings; imagine waking up knowing that everything is already in order and prepared ahead of time. Here’s to a summer of sun, sand, and no stress – so grab your towel, and head to the car!
This month, here are some tips on how to prep for a family beach trip.
Bring games. Think beyond books and iPods, and bring along games that will involve the entire family. Paddleball, Frisbee, or a deck of cards are all great options.
Pack a picnic lunch. Packing a picnic lunch not only saves you money, but it also ensures that everyone will have something they like to eat. Plus, it’s usually the healthier option too. Don’t forget to throw in a few icepacks!
Involve the kids. Let your kids help out by assigning them each a task. If you have older kids, let one of them be responsible for the toys, another for the beach chairs. With younger children, allow each of them to carry one toy or a lightweight bag down to the beach. This will make them feel important since they’re now included in the process.
Bonus tip: At the end of the day, make sure to hit the showers before getting into the car. Wash off your sandy feet, and all the beach toys that you brought along too. This will save you from cleaning up a sandy car once you get home.
Happy Organizing!
